[ Chloe has been trying to figure out how to contact this chick for at least a week and she’s sure eventually you’re supposed to just bite the bullet and start. It can’t go that bad? Right? ]
Yoooo...
[ Or maybe it can. She cringes at herself. God. ]
This is kinda... awkward for both of us, I’m sure, and I dunno that there is like anyway to say it without sounding cheap or whatever unless I like stitched it on a pillow for you or something, but uh—
Sorry for stabbing you? I swear I’m a way chiller person than this first impression implies.
[ Inside Jubilee's mailbox, there is a nondescript white envelope with her name on it. Inside, there is a colorful pog, with a message written on the back in silver fine-tipped sharpie. There's no stamp on the envelope, implying that it was hand delivered rather than mailed. ]
it's been real. it's been weird. it's been real weird.
see you on the flip side! – GP
[ The pog is enchanted with dream magic, so that it can be given as a gift, but cannot be lost, stolen, or destroyed. ]
[ Around the 25th, there's a parcel wrapped in brown paper left for Jubilee. Inside is a winter vest similar to his, only with yellow, pink, and orange stripes along the collar and shoulders. There's a belt to go with it as well.
And he even remembered to put a note!! He's so sorry about his handwriting. ]
Jubilee,
I don't know if you get cold, but I figured just in case, you might want something to help. Anna helped with the belt, so it's from both of us.
[Left outside the house is a dark blue basket. Inside is an associate of tea, chocolates, a box of lemon drops, a bottle of wine and a copy of Charles Dickens, Christmas Carol. A blue Tardis-shaped card attached to the basket says, 'Santa' in silver marker.]
Claudia had waited a night or two after they'd returned from the hotel before she found a few rats, then picked up the Fluid and followed Jubilee's instructions. So armed with enough blood she wouldn't be too hungry and the device that was so new to her, Claudia went forth into the darkness.
Uncertain, she eventually went right to the house and knocked on the door. She had traded her extravagant clothes for things a little more sensible, scrounging through discarded wares as best she could: a long heavy woolen skirt and a knitted lavender sweater. She had braided her hair up and pinned it around her head, in an elaborate manner more mature than childish. Having knocked, she stood back, and waited.
